Today is going to be a great day! I believe that the world is conspiring for me and going out of its way to bless me! Unlike the paranoid who thinks everyone and everything is conspiring against them. The word Pronoia is a neologism coined to describe a state of mind that is the opposite of paranoia. Whereas a person suffering from feelings of paranoia feels that persons or entities are conspiring against them, a person experiencing pronoia thinks that the world around them conspires to do them good.
This is the way I want to live! I think I can make the case that this is Biblical. Matthew 6:33 “Seek First His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” “Ask, and it shall be given, seek, and you will find, knock, and the door will be opened.” “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” God is conspiring to bless me! Conspiring is probably not the right word to associate with God. Still, nonetheless, it is an appropriate way to express this truth. God loves me and wishes to bless me not to harm me. He said through the prophet Jeremiah: “I know the plans I have for you, plans to bless you and not to harm you…plans to give you hope and a future.”
A part of God’s plan to work out His will in my life involves those two words: Hope and Future. The world is looking for hope, and it seems to be in short supply. The search for optimism often appears to lead down dead-end trails. Our desire for a blessed life in our own strength is a prescription for failure. Look around you, people who are searching to fill the void, are looking everywhere except to God. I have met more than my share of people who displayed paranoid tendencies. “Everyone and everything is against me,” they proclaim. Depending on the day their mantra goes from: “it is not fair,” “everyone else gets all the breaks,” “I may as well give up, nothing good ever happens to me.” Without being overly technical, why is that some people react this way? Is it something instilled in them at birth? Did they learn this from their parents? Is it, in fact, just a habit that has been developed over time, and now it has become their default position? For me, there is no absolute, definitive answer, yet you do not have to look very far to see this attitude, I dare say for some you would only have to look in the mirror. How do you see your life and the world around you? Is the world conspiring against you? Is the world conspiring for you, working on your behalf? If you are a believer, you must face the overwhelming biblical record that God loves you and desire to bless you.
One item that is problematic for most of us is the word blessed or blessing itself. The usual thought is that blessings are only found in the right, pleasant, comfortable and joyous experiences of life. Blessings often come through hard times! It is in the valley of difficulty that we really explore the implications of our faith. I have discovered when I am the end of myself, there I find God! He has not abandoned nor forsaken me. He cares and displays His care when I am in places I did not want or desire, going through things I would never have chosen for myself. It is here that I have learned the most significant lessons of faith. You can trust Him in the sunshine and in the dark. Often times, it is times of loss, weakness, and stress that I have found Him to be all-sufficient. In those painful episodes, I do not bound out of bed, saying, ” I just feel like something good is about to happen.” Yet, I must confess that it is in those times that a lot of growth does indeed happen! Over time I have discovered that the times of spiritual growth and development did not take place on the mountain of blessing, but in the shadows of the deep long valley’s. On the mountaintop, I have thanked him and often took His blessings for granted. In the valleys, I have learned that He is always there, and He does give you “a peace that passes all understanding.”
Today I am going to declare that God desires to bless me, and the world He created is joining in the conspiracy to help and assist that Blake guy. I am blessed, for only one reason, I am a child of God, and it is the nature of God to bless!

May we all realize that God’s blessings toward us are not simply for us but that we might be a blessing to others for God. Through us others may discover the reality of God’s presence and blessings of grace. So may you truly discover the fullness of all His spiritual blessings for you! Live in His grace, peace, & hope!
